Marine Conservation

The Ocean is the cradle of all life, but excessive fishing, over-development and over-discharge by the human population, has led to global warming and rise of sea levels, as well as the planet's coral reefs experiencing a mass global bleaching. After corals die, reets quickly degrade and the structures corals build erode. This provides less shoreline protection from storms and fewer habitats for fish and other marine life, including ecologically and economically important species.

For the 2015 Edition of the Asia Maritime Art & Culture Exhibition Beijing(AMACEING), organizer Martello Yachting will engage in a charity project for ocean protection and coral conservation. We invite all participants to our show who love the sea to join our ranks, by means of showcasing their artistic talent or a financial contribution.

At AMACEing 2015, the most prominent position in Building No. 2 is reserved to display calligraphy, paintings, photography, sculptures, embroidery, or other presentation of arts and crafts by yachting industry professionals and famous artists. Each art piece will be priced by the author, and is available for purchase by visitors of the show. The funds raised will be used to finance coral conservation activities in the South Pacific or the Indian Ocean. By then, all those involved in the Coral Reef Conservation Project (authors and donors) will have their names engraved on the reef’ s steel frame to commemorate the participants for their contributions. Martello Yachting will, if the participant wishes, include the participant’s information in the general promotion of AMACEing.
